The golden thread that runs through my work is the pursuit of Beauty, through depicting our human form in the landscape. My first love is portraiture and capturing the soul’s essence.
Life is too short: recognise the beauty of those that surround you.
My inspirations are those realists of the Renaissance and the nineteenth century Pre-Raphaelite painters, who broke the boundaries of what could be achieved with tubes of oil colour.
I aspire to likewise emulate them.
I am classically trained in drawing and painting in the Atelier tradition. An additional university degree in the conservation of easel paintings means all my work is constructed with the highest standards of conservation in mind: my paintings will indeed stand the test of time.
