A contradiction, obviously.
We are under the impression we have to strive to achieve our life's purpose. We have to fulfil our destiny, unravel our soul purpose. But how we grasp in trying to do so!
Perhaps the whole of life's purpose is not to strive, but be content with what is.
To tolerate. To accept.
Acknowledge what one has and be utterly grateful and aware of the abundance all around us. There are so many who are far less fortunate.
Perhaps the point is just to be the best human being you can be. The most divine expression possible. It is so easy to think of oneself before others. It is so easy to say "it's my right to do as I please," but when this trespasses on another's rights and compassion is cast aside, you can find yourself on a slippery slope and self empowerment can quickly turn to base selfishness.
A constant practice.
